The USA Olympic ski team approached me with a one-of-a-kind project, wanting three distinct concepts for lower third bumpers to be used in news interviews and broadcasts. I chose the highly exceptional Mikaela Shiffrin as the subject of my design and animation work for this creative project. Each of the three ideas was carefully constructed to fulfill a specific objective. The initial proposal, which included simply the prominent US ski team logo and a short title, attempted to offer a clean and minimalistic style while keeping the team’s identity front and center. The second idea added a layer of useful depth by inserting descriptive text, which provided viewers with important context. The third concept, possibly the most visually appealing, had a photograph of Mikaela Shiffrin, giving the lower third a more personal and dynamic touch. Thes concepts provided useful examples for the media team, serving as templates that can be readily changed to suit the different profiles and personalities of all team members, improving their visibility and recognition in the world of sports broadcasting.
